Six quick answers

What visitors ask most.

01Is PEVA the National Park?

No. Arenal Volcano Ecological Park is a private park bordering the Arenal Conservation Area. The National Park is managed by SINAC and has its own entrance and fees. They are different places, and you can visit both.

02Can I choose a rate by changing language?

No. The language of the site does not change the rate: you choose Residents or Foreigners when you book, and Costa Rican residents show their ID at the entrance.

03Will I see wildlife or the volcano?

Not guaranteed. Clouds are frequent and sightings depend on the day. On clear days the two lookouts face the cone.

04What should I bring?

Quick-drying comfortable clothing, hiking or tennis shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, a hat, a rain jacket and a camera. For the lagoon, add a swimsuit and a towel.

For camping, add food and drinks for your stay, a change of clothes, toiletries and a flashlight or headlamp.

05How does reservation work?

Choose Residents or Foreigners, pick a date and time block, and pay online.

06What is the cancellation policy?

Park Entrance: free changes or cancellation up to 24 hours before your visit. Within 24 hours or no-show, 100% is charged. No cash refunds; eligible amounts return as a credit for a future visit.

Other products: the conditions shown on each product page and at checkout apply.
